What's the smart way to get wheels powder coated?

I’ve never had wheels (or anything else) powder coated before. My wheels are shot. The coating from the factory has peeled in places, and there’s no shining them up to look anything better than tired. Functionally they’re great, and they aren’t all curb rashed. They’re just close to 20 years old. For better or worse, I need new tires too. Problem is, how can I get four rims sand blasted and powder coated without four more rims holding up the car?

I’m considering heading to a tire shop and explaining this and seeing if I can buy tires on steel loaner rims while getting the real rims coated and then pay for the labor of remounting the tires a second time.

It’s not the worst plan and I suspect it’s my only option, but more than once, especially with cars, I’ve learned that there is a shortcut that makes a ton of sense that you might not know about. If there was a way to do this without going back and forth a couple times, it’d save a minor headache.

Is there a better way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Are there no places that take appointments? I’ve not had wheels painted, but the place that I have used for wheel repair does it. People usually drop off and pick up just like any other service.

1) Get cheap wheels and tires off Craigslist

2) Get old tires dismounted off of current rims

3) Get them blasted and powder coated

4) Get new tires mounted on coated rims (be sure to tell them to put the mother fucking wheel weights on the inside)

5) Remount and enjoy

Edit- Oh, what wheels are they? Might be tough to PC

That’s what I had more or less in mind. I just don’t want to end up with a set of shit wheels, but I bet the tire place will happily take them. I have no place to store them.

They’re these:

Think they’re coatable? If not I guess I’ll get aftermarket and just dump the orignials and save a lot of headache, but the car is bone stock and I’d like to keep it that way if possible.

Well, let me put it this way. What is your budget, from old wheels off to new ones on?

Budget is no problem. Storing four tired tired on junk rims is the problem.

I was thinking about cost to coat your originals. Probably $75-100 per wheel.

As for the junk tires and wheels, see if you can just pay to have the tire place dispose of them.
